Iron Range Veterinary Clinic is a four doctor practice looking for a full-time veterinary associate in the Brainerd Lakes area.  The clinic, located just north of Crosby, MN, has been seeing equine and small animal patients since 2012.  The patient ratio is currently 80:20 companion animal : equine.  The clinic has the potential to expand into food animal medicine as there is a lack of veterinarians serving in this capacity in the area.  The candidate for the associate position will have responsibilities in small animal surgery, internal medicine, and preventative medicine as well as equine lameness, surgery, preventative medicine, and dental floats. While we currently do very little reproduction work, it is another area that can be expanded into with a veterinarian with that interest.

The practice opened a branch clinic in the neighboring town of Aitkin, MN in February of 2016.  The new associate will have the opportunity to work in both locations.  The 40 hour scheduled work week for this position has the option of a four or five day work week. The clinic does not currently see regular appointments on weekends, but would require an on-call small animal/equine emergency split between the four doctors.  The veterinarian attending the emergency appointments receives additional compensation for these visits.  Employee benefits in the practice include but are not limited to paid vacation and holidays, sick leave, monthly HSA contribution, IRA match, provided work vehicle and cell phone.  

Our facilities are continually being upgraded and include our newest small animal medicine clinic (opened Jan.2023), on-site lab equipment, digital x-ray, portable ultrasound, two gas anesthesia set ups, equine and small animal dentistry, three in-house equine stalls and indoor working area.  The owners of the clinic are 2010 and 2006 graduates and are eager to share their veterinary medicine experience with new graduates looking for cutting edge ideas as well as a common sense approach to veterinary medicine.
