Private Practice Neurology-Neurosurgery Internships 3-day Interview Blocks | $65,000 Salary
Veterinary Neurology and Imaging of the Chesapeake is an independent specialty group within the larger Chesapeake Veterinary Referral Center. We are proud to offer TWO neurology/neurosurgery specialty internship to veterinarians who want to join a truly collaborative and collegial group of veterinary specialists, all working to provide the best outcome for our patients. Our practice makes it possible to conjoin your desire to dive into neurology and neurosurgery, learn to provide expert diagnosis, support and care while building your neurology knowledge base. This 12-month neurology specialty internship will begin in the first week of July 2021. We will provide training in medical/surgical neurology through rotations with the neurologists in both of our offices, MRI technologists, radiologists and other specialists as desired by the intern and supervising diplomate. Further training will be available through neurology journal club, ECC rounds, imaging rounds and neurology rounds. At both our locations in the Baltimore - Annapolis corridor, Veterinary Neurology & Imaging of the Chesapeake has dedicated neurosurgery suites, on-site CT, fluoroscopy, digital radiography, in-house labs and Cadwell electrodiagnostic units. Our practice includes excellent and experienced support staff, registered veterinary technicians, MRI technologists, a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner, veterinary anesthetists, and a great management team to help you to grow, succeed and prosper. Both locations boast an in-house 1.5 T MRI unit performed by our experienced imaging team that includes an MRI technologist, licensed vet technician and a dedicated veterinary anesthetist. Surgery is performed in both Annapolis and the Baltimore location, which means multiple opportunities for you to scrub-in and further your neurosurgical knowledge.

The successful candidate will have completed a small animal medicine and surgery rotating internship and have a strong desire to pursue a neurology/neurosurgery residency. The intern will be responsible for no more than 2 weekends per month emergency and in-clinic care. Three-day breaks will be available after the first 3 months of the internship to allow for professional development and residency application/interviews. |
