Practice Manager

We are seeking a Practice Manager for our privately-owned, Long Beach area veterinary clinic. This general practice clinic is one of three in our hospital group, seeing the highest volume in terms of patients and revenue. Beginning in January 2022, we’ll be adding a 24/7 emergency department, and applicants with prior management experience in emergency medicine are highly desirable.

Lakewood Pet Vet is one of our rapidly growing, small animal private practices located in sunny Southern California.  With 18 DVMs practicing at our group of three animal hospitals, on-call board-certified internists and orthopedists, and the support of over 70 technical staff and client care representatives, we ensure that both our patients, and their owners, receive the best care available. 

With our well-established client base, we expect our practice to continue to see double-digit growth in revenue. Our hospital is currently undergoing a major expansion and renovation, and with the addition of an emergency medicine department in early 2022, we are in need of strong leadership to manage the next stage of our development.

Besides investing in our hospital, we have made a significant investment in our team members and managerial staff to support our growth. Our RVTs, Vet Assistants, Doctor’s Assistants, and Pharmacy Technicians are dedicated to our mission of providing excellent patient outcomes.

We also have administrative, HR, payroll, and bookkeeping departments already in place, so that you are free to focus on our priorities for the hospital: leadership, vision, innovation, and revenue growth.

• A 7,000 sq. ft. state of the art clinics, each with 8 exam rooms, 2 surgery suites, ICU, isolation, radiology, doctors’ and administrative offices

Your Skills and Qualifications

• Previous practice management experience at a large veterinary hospital, especially those with an emergency department. Your experience should include:
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze revenue trends and capitalize on opportunities for growth; experience designing social media campaigns.
  • Implementing workflow efficiencies and promoting excellence in customer service
  • Motivating doctors and staff to perform at the highest levels of professionalism, as individuals and as team members
  • Leading staff development initiatives
  • OSHA compliance; inventory management; facilities maintenance
  • Client relations and community outreach
• Exemplary behavior in all matters of hospital leadership
• Dedication to Our Mission and Core Values
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Marketing, or similar field
• CVPM designation is a plus.
