About Humane Ohio
Humane Ohio is a 501c3 organization that offers high quality, high volume spay/neuter surgeries for dogs and cats. From 2006 through 2018, Humane Ohio has performed 156,983 spay/neuter surgeries in all. Humane Ohio offers a transport program in a temperature controlled box truck to pick up animals for spay/neuter in 11 different counties. We work with over 35 rescues and shelters to alter their pets before adoption, and some help us organize transport for public pets as well. Humane Ohio has long been the leader in our community related to care and advocacy for community cats. We operate a live-trap rental program to assist people in safe trapping of community cats, and charge a special price for spay/neuter, ear-tip and rabies vaccines for community cats of only $29. We offer an educational class periodically, “Feral Cats 101”, to teach interested people how to safely trap cats in their neighborhoods and to help them understand more about community cat behavior. Humane Ohio offers feral cat shelters for purchase throughout the cold weather months to assist cat caretakers in keeping their neighborhood cats safe and warm. In 2018 alone we were able to spay/neuter, ear-tip and vaccin...ate over 5,000 community cats. We also operate a small foster-based cat adoption program to help cats and kittens most at-risk. We place approximately 350 cats each year. We have helped cats who needed amputations, eye enucleations, wound care and those who tested positive for FIV and/or Feline Leukemia. We were able to provide needed medical care and foster homes for healing time, and ultimately find these cats safe, indoor homes to call their own.
