The Homer Veterinary Clinic is currently looking for a practicer manager to join our hard-working yet fun-loving team. We are an AAHA-accredited, Fear Free practice, primarily focusing on small animals with occasional exotics, wildlife and large animals. We are fully equipped with digital dental radiography, digital x-ray, ultrasound, in-house lab and Companion therapy laser, to name a few. We are looking for a practice manager who is self-motivated, hard-working and a team player.
We are offering a full or part-time position for a hospital manager with a highly competitive salary and benefits. We would also consider a short-term consultant position. We are looking for a practice manager/consultant capable of but not limited to the following responsibilities:
hiring and training support staff
conducting performance reviews and implementing disciplinary actions if needed
developing HR policies
managing, coaching and motivating staff to maintain a positive work environment
preparing financial statements and budgets with the owner
monitoring benchmarks, setting fees, analyzing data
developing and maintaining an inventory control system
implementing safety procedures and adhering to OSHA requirements
maintaining social media sites
establishing excellent customer service protocols and dealing with client complaints
creating a hospital schedule and managing labor costs
maintaining AAHA accreditation standards
establishing goals for the practice and staff
overseeing maintenance issues with the practice
developing and implementing hospital policies
ensuring proper State/DEA/Controlled Substances requirements are met
monitoring the computer system and working with IT personnel to resolve technical and equipment issues
tracking and maintaining current permits for the hospital
tracking and maintaining current licensure and permits for all DVMs
responsible for community announcements and marketing strategies
assisting with payroll
managing accounts receivable and cash on hand, including performing invoice audit reviews
performing other duties essential to the financial performance of the hospital as assigned
displaying excellent oral and written communication skills
displaying excellent supervisory, leadership and problem solving skills
