Part Time or Full Time - Any experience level considered
DVM or equivalent
Locust Grove Veterinary Clinic has openings for full and part time small animal veterinarians. If you are looking for a practice that puts patients first, cares about community, and is kind and considerate of our staff, then please consider visiting with us. Our doctors and support staff enjoy a good quality professional life, with plenty of time for a personal life. Our central location is an excellent balance of small city, university, suburban, and semi-rural areas, yet not too far from big cities (Washington, DC, Richmond, and Charlotteville, Va). There are many activities available, with reasonable housing costs. The low cost of living is helpful to those paying off student loans. We offer an excellent work environment, and competitive salary and benefits.
Our practice is a comfortably busy, progressive, friendly practice, with an experienced and dedicated staff. We practice quality medicine, surgery, and dentistry, along with integrative holistic therapies. Our patients include cats and dogs, but we will be happy to add other small animal species to expand our patient care services. If you love the work, have good medical skills and surgical skills, good people skills, a desire to learn and share, you will find our practice to be the right fit. New graduates will find us patient and supportive of their learning experience. We encourage professional development for our veterinarians and staff. An interest in ultrasound, dentistry, surgery, rehabilitation, integrative/holistic therapies, and/or behavior are welcome, as are other interests.
Full time associates enjoy a flexible 4 day work week with, at most, one half Saturday per month, and ample vacation/personal time. Part-time hours can also be quite flexible. There is an excellent local emergency and surgical center which handles all after hours emergencies, and can take daytime critical care patients.
Benefits include AVMA dues, Va. license, DEA, CE, liability insurance, retirement fund, health insurance, and at cost pet care for all employees. Salaries are competitive, based on experience. We welcome new graduates and experienced veterinarians. There is buy in/buy out potential for those interested in growing into a practice of their own.
The area offers many activities. Fredericksburg is a great small city with restaurants, shopping, music, arts, sports, and a university with a variety of activities. It's an easy drive from the clinic into town, and vice versa. Housing varies from condos to farms, lake communities, golf communities, and everything in between. If you love to hike, jog, bike, kayak, swim, or ride your horse, enjoy dog sports, baseball, in-line hockey, soccer, and other sports, etc., this is a great location. We have plein air painting groups, photography groups, theater groups, and many opportunities for musicians, and other artists.
Our mission is to help as many animals as we can in our community. To that end we are active with the Orange County Humane Society and Cause 4 Paws, and help with other local rescue groups and shelters. We assist with some wildlife care as it comes our way. We support the TNR program, foster cats and kittens, and help provide care for low income family pets as the need arises.

Additional Salary Information: $80K - $130K based on experience, and negotiable.
