Promote health of pets by advising pet parents about sanitation measures, feeding, and general care.
Cultivate positive relationships with customers and their pets through regular communication and excellent record-keeping.
Perform surgical procedures on an as needed basis including, but not limited to, ovariohysterectomy, orchiectomy/castration, tumor/mass removal, and hernia repair and tooth extractions
Provides necropsy services when needed
Ensure that proper medication and treatment is administered by veterinary staff as directed
Works cooperatively with the veterinary clinic manager and staff for the development and implementation of goals, policies and procedures related to the veterinary practices of the veterinary clinic
Excellent surgical skills, including, but not limited to, spay/neuter, dentistry, soft-tissue.
Ability to balance medical and financial priorities with the clients of the veterinary clinic.
Ability to work independently, exercise good clinical judgment, provide supervisory support of technical staff and use diplomacy and tact in dealing with internal and external customers
Educate clients on the importance of vaccinations, heartworm treatments, flea and tick treatments and other aspects of preventative care
Familiarity with Avimark software a plus.
Production and clinic growth will be a focus.
Practice in accordance to state practice act and principles of veterinary medical ethics
Leverage evidence-based medicine and continue pursuit of education to deliver quality patient care
State Veterinary Board License and must be in good standing for the state in which they intend to be hired, prior to their start date.
