Just like the beautiful Adirondack mountain range that we are named after, we are truly one of a kind and seeking an adventurous and enthusiastic veterinarian to join our team! AVC was established over 50 years ago and has been serving the local pets and people of our community ever since. We are proud to be one of the last few privately owned clinics in the area. This allows us to provide the type of home-town care that our clients appreciate (picture the Little House on the Prairie type of wholesome feel, but in the year 2020!). We know our clients by name, and probably know their brother, or cousin, or aunt, and sometimes see them at the grocery store on the weekends. We emphasize client education and are involved in several fun and educational community service events throughout the year (because the more pet owners that know about flea control, the better, right?!).
We have cared for multiple generations of pets for a large percentage of our clients (so many wonderful memories!) - and we are always accepting new generations of pets into the family. Our AVC clan has grown so much in the past few years, we are finally looking to expand both our building and our professional team!
We hold ourselves to a high standard of care and have equipped our facility with a user friendly EMR program, brand new in-house laboratory equipment, digital radiology, ultrasound, up to date anesthetic monitors, Companion Laser, brand new dental station with compressor, and the best drugs available. We understand that our duty is to provide compassionate care to all pets (and the humans attached to them), not just the ones that can afford "the Cadillac of care." In fact, our mission statement is this: "We are your hometown veterinary clinic - caring for your pets as if they are our own, while providing education, respect and support to our clients and local community."
So, who do we think would be a great addition to our team? We are looking for someone that fits our culture and values and is willing to learn and grow with us. We are not perfect, and don't expect anyone else to be. But if you live and breathe animals like we do, prioritize patient care, enjoy working in a tight-knit team environment, and thrive on helping local pets live their healthiest lives, then step right up!
We want someone who is confident with their veterinary skills and is proficient in general surgery and dentistry (don't worry, we love our local veterinary specialists and utilize them regularly!). We'd love for you to be a real people person too. We're all here because we're crazy about animals (I just know I'll die trying to pet something I shouldn't!), but the humans drive the car to our clinic. So, it's equally important that we love and respect them too!
We're a small practice, but we want to offer the very best we can. So, we have a package that includes a competitive salary, CE allowance, paid dues, PTO, health insurance contribution, pet care discounts, and a uniform allowance.
We'd need you here approximately 25 hours a week, but for the right candidate (unicorns do exist!), we would consider a full-time schedule. There are no on-call responsibilities as we are not staffed overnight.
If this sounds like an adventure you'd like to join us on, please reach out to our practice manager, Kali! And feel free to visit our website, www.ADKVet.com, and our Facebook page to get a deeper feel for who we are.
We are excited to meet you!
