Brazos Valley Equine Hospitals in Salado, Texas is looking to fill one of two spots open for a one year rotating equine internship. Our internship program is designed to provide a level of post-graduate training to prepare an intern for a residency program or private practice. The intern will have the opportunity to sharpen their diagnostic and decision-making skills in equine medicine, surgery and intensive care, gain hands-on experience in routine procedures and advanced diagnostics, as well as develop confidence in interacting with clients, staff and other veterinarians. We strongly believe in mentoring our interns and allow interns to have primary emergency and farm call duties once they are ready.
Additional benefits to salary include health insurance, malpractice insurance, housing on-site with paid utilities, stipend for use to attend one meeting, AAEP membership dues, state licensing fees (if applicable), VIN membership, and limited time off for job/residency interviews. We offer $2,500 per month as salary. There is a possibility for future employment with mutual satisfaction and desire. Internship starting dates will be staggered to allow for overlap between interns. Some flexibility on the starting date can be discussed.
