Pittsburgh was ranked the most-livable city in the U.S.
It is a small city of ethnic neighborhoods, scenic hills, trees, rivers and farmland, yet offers world-class fine arts, museums, and educational institutions, three professional sports teams, a zoo, aquarium, and the National Aviary, excellent schools and health care, and a wide variety of outdoor and family activities. Despite Pittsburgh’s big city offerings, people are friendly, crime is low, rural settings are within commuting distance, and cost of living is well below average.
The Hospitalist will be responsible for managing inpatients (primarily those presenting through the emergency service) that do not require transfer to a specialty service in an effort to better manage caseload and provide superior care.
Additional responsibilities include:

Follow-up pending diagnostic tests and contact the client and rDVM with results and medical recommendations.
Teach and manage processes.
Teach and model gentle and humane restraint and/or sedation of all patients.
Share utilization of senior technicians.
Assist in on-the-job training and mentorship of clinical staff.
Investigate and define concerns, and provide constructive, solution-oriented feedback to the technician, kennel assistant, and CSR teams to improve operations and maximize patient care.
Provide constructive guidance and training to house officers and newer associate doctors.
Provide service excellence:
Listen to client concerns and build rapport and trust.
Provide reasonable financial expectations.
Provide client education on possible diagnoses.
Provide ideal and, if necessary, alternate treatment plans without judgement.
Provide daily clinical and financial updates.
Address client concerns by attempting to define concerns and corresponding solutions in a professional and constructive manner, involving management when initial attempts are unsuccessful.
